Prerna is a PhD student at MIT CSAIL advised by Dr. Hal Abelson and Dr. David Karger. Her research broadly focuses on designing AI-powered educational tools and learning experiences catered to students of diverse cognitive and physical abilities as well as underrepresented social contexts. She also works closely with Dr. Cynthia Breazeal from the MIT Media Lab. She collaborates on AI literacy projects for K12 as well as adults under MIT RAISE (Responsible AI for Social Empowerment and Education). She is currently investigating how Generative AI can be integrated into reflective scaffolding tools to promote students’ self-regulated learning and creativity, as well as how educators can devise novel pedagogical strategies to deliver Generative AI literacy curriculum in diverse learning environments.
